I did research on different trikes, I wanted something to make walks more interactive for my 10m old and something that was durable. After much research, I landed on Doona Liki Trike and glad I did! She is involved in the walks, has an almost 360 view of her surroundings and getting used to placing feet on pedals and reaching for handle bars. This does require you as a parent to be more involved and hands on then with a traditional stroller walk. This is similar to playtime together. If Iβm going to the zoo or suspect she might need a nap on outing, I would opt for taking her stroller.I saw a few things about the trike that I was concerned about- seat only stays straight upright, steering, handles hurt, and loose straps. The seat does offer a small recline if you want your child to relax a bit. The handles and steering do require some getting used to to maneuver because you are controlling the front wheel, there was no issues in response to handle movement. After a few minutes it was easy. Would it be nice if it had a cup holder for parents or tray to put your cell phone? Of course, but I donβt expect that to be on a regular trike and itβs a similar concept, in this case it does have a storage bag for water, phone etcβ¦ The straps are adjustable, I set them up when she was off the trike, fitted them tightly and they stayed on her for the duration of a 45 min walk.Overall, happy with the purchase, quality, and how much she enjoyed the trike!

The trike is really neat and has multiple stages for toddlers of all sizes and ages. The build appears solid and its a nice looking trike but the issue is with the really really bad turning radius. You need a lot of space to turn and itβs not very responsive when turning the handle bars.

We love our Doona Liki Trike and since purchased weβve not taken the large stroller out a single time. Itβs easy to unfold, a bit trickier to fold. I needs better storage. I wish it could recline for a nap. But my 10.5 month old son has gone from hating strolling to giggling and squealing when he gets into his trike. Heβs now completely a part of the action and that definitely outweighs the few downsides of the trike. Also, we get stopped every single day to talk about itβ¦if you live in NYC and you find that sort of thing annoying, donβt purchase lol. We donβt mind the interaction and engagement at all, especially for building social skills.

I love this DOONA trike sooooo much. My now two year old loves it as well. Itβs so light and easy to maneuver. I have the DOONA stroller as well. This does not disappoint. It comes with a cute carrying bag as well. I use this in place of a stroller going to the grocery store as well. Itβs great!

I have researched many trikes before forking over $250+ for this one here’s why….My son is two years old (on the smaller side) and I wanted a trike that I would be able to lift easily, fold, and take anywhere we go. I wish I had purchased this for him when he was months old, so he (when I say he, I really mean we) could enjoy it longer. I have MS so having a trike that maneuvers easily, fold and was light weight was extremely important to me when making this purchase.Pros vs consPros…This trike can fold flat and fit in my trunk with room to spare. I love the bright color (we got red). I love that I can push it with one hand and he has the option to pedal or not. The trike is well made and he loves to be on it! All the parts that it came with were also made well. It has a sun shade, a safety harness, a bag for your or his little belongings and a cup holder for his cup. The size is great for going in to stores so I don’t take the stroller as often.Cons…Although this bike folds flat you still have to remove all the extra accessories (except the sun shade) in order for it to fold flat.. so if your using it in infant mode you have to also remove the bar that surrounds them in addition to the push handle, cup holder and bag. So if your in a rush this will slow you up a bit! (I get why you have to take everything off though, you want it to fold flat!! Sooo… Lol). The bag that it comes with is very small. I wish it were a bit larger seeing as though the trike doesn’t have any little storage part on the bottom. The bag also falls off (A lot) when pushing the trike. They need to fix this. For $250 it should remain on the push bar better than it does. This trike also doesn’t come with a parent cup holder so I have no place to put my coffee or whatever drink I have. Unless you decide to spend additional money (which I was not) you will have to take the push bar off and carry it in you hand if you decide to fold the trike while outside. That was annoying because now you have to hold the trike which is light weight but you also have to hold the push bar also. Although the seat can be pushed back for him to relax, it doesn’t go back enough for him to be comfortable if he falls asleep. The trike is on the smaller side (my son is 26lbs and I don’t think he will be able to use this after next summer) compared to other trikes and doesn’t turn into a balancing bike like some others do. So you end up spending again later when that time approaches. Conclusion…If I didn’t have MS I may not have purchased this trike. But because I do and it is convenient for me as stated above, I justified my purchase. I think if I put hased it when he was 10 months old and I used it more when he was at that stage, maybe I would have still purchased it.
