We are loving this tricycle! Our toddler is learning how to pedal and the setup with the parent handle is just perfect for this, especially while I’m dealing with back problems that would make bending down to help push and steer much too difficult.Assembly wasn’t bad at all. Two adults put it together in well under half an hour. All the parts were there and in new condition, and the instructions weren’t hard to figure out. They were thorough with drawings illustrating what goes where, though it may have been even more clear if there were written instructions as well. It’s simple to engage or disengage the front wheel from the pedals if you want to push the trike without the pedals moving. The parent handle is slightly loose with turning as others have mentioned, but it hasn’t posed much of a problem in our use on sidewalks and pathways other than maybe a little lesssl efficiency when trying to walk alongside our child and pushing the handle with one hand. Two hands is definitely easier. The basket in the rear is large, but not as large as I’d thought. It may hold a 12-pack of La Croix sparkling water nicely. The parent pouch is very nice to have, but don’t expect it to hold anything very large; just the small basics, such as cell phone, keys, sanitizer, and a small maybe 12 oz bottle of water. We only used it with the foot rest once because our son was ready to pedal, but it worked perfectly and fit well. We haven’t used the tray because it’s just not necessary for his age, but I imagine it will work very nicely for a baby.We went with Amazon’s version after comparing the features we wanted on Radio Flyer’s site with Amazon’s price and seeing that we would get more for less money. However, you may want to take a look at some of the customizations available on the Radio Flyer site to adjust for features that you would like or don’t need. The only think Amazon’s RF trike didn’t have that we wanted is the padded seat cushion. Now that we have the trike, it’s not a big deal to not have it. Maybe for an infant staying in the trike for more than a short while it would be more important. Without it, the seat is hard plastic, but the air tires absorb a lot of shock and I haven’t seen any signs of the seat hurting our little one’s back. One last note: it does not fit in the trunk of our sedan, a Chevy Cruze, even with removing the parent handle and canopy. There is another model that folds that may be a better option for those who want to travel with the trike and don’t have a hatchback, SUV, or minivan available.Overall, we are super happy with this trike and recommend it. It looks like it will last a long time.

My son is turning 1 in 2 weeks, so my husband and I decided to buy him a trike for his birthday. I assembled the trike with my baby crawling around, screaming like a banshee, with no major issues (except fumes and paint chipping, more on that later). It took around 30 minutes. I needed a screw driver, an adjustable wrench, and used a hammer (as instructed), though would have preferred a rubber mallet. The box was well-packaged and was obviously packed to serve parents with kids running around shoving random things in their mouths. There were no tiny screws or sharp things that fell since anything small were wrapped in a tight package. All other things came in individualized plastic/paper wrap, with nothing sharp falling (like staplers, wires, etc.) as you unwrap them. This made my life so much easier! Instructions were easy to read, just like any IKEA flat box furniture diagram. After assembly, my head was starting to hurt from the rubber fumes. It did not go away, unfortunately (both the headache and the smell).Once assembled, my son enjoyed it ASAP. He tried using it as a walker, but didn’t hurt himself since the pedals were safely covered by the foot rest. The seat isn’t as comfortable, and there’s no padding included with this kit. Since my son isn’t super tall, he could barely reach the foot rest and has to lean on one side to even have one of his foot touch the rest. Having those side safety bars finally made sense. Overall, he still enjoyed his ride, holding the handlebars and having a sense of freedom and adventure, more so than being in a stroller. Since he was low and open, he could easily touch things like plants and bushes. From the parents’ point of view, steering is easy, though with a bit of wiggle. Would have preferred a tighter fit on the handle, though it’s not a huge con. The canopy is definitely not large enough, so I would need to add a flap that I can pull off as needed, like an extended canopy for strollers. The parent pocket is handy, fits a cup, but isn’t stable for an open cup or Starbucks. Better get a water bottle when walking around with this. The storage on the back of the trike is wide and can hold foldable umbrellas and stuffed animals with ease. The tires do very well on bumpy roads. There’s no shock absorbers so it’s definitely a bumpy ride for my kid. But the trike goes over bumps without much effort, so that’s a huge plus when compared to plastic tires that are mainly used indoors. After 2 trips around the neighborhood, there’s already some creaking when we steer to the right. I have yet to discover the cause, but it seems like some WD40 would solve the issue.I would have given this trike 5 stars, given that my previous complaints were so minor. However, my main concern was paint chipping. On DAY ONE, while assembling the trike, my teething son got a hold of the handle bars and proceeded to chomp on them. I didn’t really mind since they were metal, and just removed the bar from his grasp once I noticed. However, at the end of the day, I realized he already CHIPPED the paint. I’m pretty sure he ate the paint. It was so hard to see indoors since the metal and paint were almost the same shade. It took FL’s bright sunlight to reveal the damage wrought by his teeth. I am pretty annoyed that the paint came off so easily. For a toy that is marketed for children at the teething age, I would expect better quality paint. But no. I picked at the chipped paint with my fingernail and it easily came off. Now I would have to watch him like a hawk every time he mouths the trike.Overall, the price is okay, but I would definitely pay an extra 30 dollars if it meant better non-chipping paint.UPDATE: A week of use, the trike now pulls to the right suddenly. We would push him in this on the sidewalk, and the front wheel would just jerk to the right, without any hills or debris on the road or my son pulling on the handlebar or any other input. It’s like a ghost turns the wheel. It’s very annoying since we have to be very vigilant and instantly correct the issue or we end up with a rolled over trike or a runaway trike hitting random things. We have yet to investigate the cause. For this, we are deducting stars, from 4 to a 2. It’s unacceptable that a riding device has such a problem within a week.

Our first one had a defective part so we had to order a new one which was inconvenient. I like this bike although it isnβt the easiest to push.

Awesome present!

Relatively easy to assemble, but the instructions could be better. I was very impressed with the overall quality. Solid steel parts, real inflatable tires and solid feeling plastic parts. The only part that I felt was not a good as the rest is the adjustable awning, it is a bit flimsy. Radio Flyer has always made quality products and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Our 1yo loves her new trike! She constantly wants to be on it and have us push her around the house. I love that as she gets older, we can take pieces of so it will grow with her. Also looks very nice!

It was easy to assemble, but as far as structural engineering, it could have been better.

My husband hates putting things like this together because the parts never fit properly however, he said the precision and engineering of this bike was pretty impressive. Everything fit together perfectly. My one year old granddaughter loves riding it too.
